Character: Grey black powder. The relative density of 6.45. Soluble in acid but not in water, alcohol.Easy to get a variety of pigments when reacts with silica, alumina or zinc oxide in high temperature.


Application:
1. Paint additives. Cobalt oxide added in the various paints can let it dry quickly which is helpful for the rapid construction.

2. Enamel and ceramic pigments. Improve the anti-corrosion and abrasion resistance capability when added to enamel materials. In a variety of building materials and household ceramics, the ceramic products smeared by the blue pigments or glaze  made by the Cobalt oxide showing a bright color after roasting, which looks more artistic.

3. As catalyst in refined petroleum field.
4. Battery industry. As a kind of high performance battery additives, it has a significant effect to improve electrode performance. Cobalt oxide is also the raw material of electrode material for lithium ion battery.
